EMDR INTENSIVES in THOUSAND OAKS, CA
“Talk therapy didn’t really work for me.”
“I’ve done a lot of therapy, but the belief hasn’t changed.”
“I want relief that feels real.”
“I don’t have time to drag this out for months.”
You know something needs to shift, and you’re ready for it—but finding the time for weekly therapy just doesn’t fit into your life right now.
Between your job, family, responsibilities, and everything else you’re managing, your schedule is already full. Trying to carve out the same time every week, rearrange your calendar, and stretch this process out over months (or years) can feel overwhelming in itself. So “feeling better” keeps getting pushed off.
Even though you’ve worked hard to make things change, you’re still stuck in the same loops—overthinking, self-doubt, and that constant feeling of not measuring up. It shows up at work, in motherhood, or in how you see your body, but underneath, it’s the same struggle: you can see it, you understand it, and it’s still not shifting.
What is an EMDR Intensive?
An EMDR intensive is so much more than a longer therapy session.
It’s a structured, personalized, and premium therapy experience designed to help you go deeper than you often can in weekly therapy.
Instead of trying to make progress over the course of months (or years), an intensive gives us uninterrupted time to fully focus on your healing. It’s intentional, immersive, and designed to create meaningful movement in a shorter period of time.
After my first EMDR intensive, I remember thinking…I wish I had done this sooner. And that’s something I often hear from clients, too.
THE PROCESS
-
We start with a free 20-minute consultation to talk through what’s bringing you in, whether this model is a good fit, and what kind of intensive might make the most sense for you.
-
If you decide to move forward, I’ll send paperwork and your intake materials. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your intensive, and the remaining balance is due on the first day of the intensive.
-
Before we meet, you’ll complete and return a personalized workbook at least 48 hours in advance so I already have a clear understanding of what you’re experiencing and what you want to work on.
Then, during our 90-minute pre-intensive interview, we’ll use that information to map out a plan for your intensive—so we’re clear, focused, and intentional about exactly what we’re targeting.
-
Your intensive can be 1, 2, 3, or 4 days. Each day includes 5 hours total, usually split into 2.5 hours in the morning, a 1-hour lunch break, and 2.5 hours in the afternoon. Sessions can be scheduled on consecutive days or spread out over separate weeks, depending on your needs and schedule.
-
About 2–4 weeks after your final intensive day, we’ll meet for a 90-minute post-intensive interview to review what shifted, what you’re noticing, and how to support continued progress.
-
Some clients feel complete after one intensive. Others decide to schedule an additional 3-hour or 5-hour intensive session in the future for continued work.
How it works
EMDR HELPS YOU GET TO THE ROOT OF “why” YOU FEEL THE WAY YOU DO.
Together, we get curious about where these beliefs about yourself came from—because you weren’t born believing “I’m not enough,” “I’m a failure,” or “something is wrong with me.” These beliefs are connected to earlier experiences and messages that got stored in a way that still affects you and your life today—as a professional, a mother, a partner, or in your relationship to food and your body.
Using EMDR, we go back to those earlier memories and begin to shift what’s attached to them. Through a structured process using bilateral stimulation (like guided eye movements), we help your brain let go of the negative beliefs connected to those experiences and begin to connect them with beliefs that feel more true and supportive. Over time, this changes the way you think about those memories—and as a result, the way you think and feel about yourself.
This is exactly why I offer EMDR intensives.
Instead of trying to do this work in short sessions, intensives give us the time and space to stay with the process so we can actually get to the root, create the kind of meaningful change you’ve been needing (and searching for), and build momentum while you’re in it.

FAQs
-
Intensives are a great fit if you’ve done therapy before but still feel like some patterns aren’t going anywhere—like self-doubt, overthinking, or not feeling “enough.” They’re also ideal if you’re ready for deeper work, motivated for change, and want to experience real shifts sooner rather than later.
-
Weekend availability is occasionally available. Please reach out for weekend rates, and we can discuss a timeline and schedule that could work for you.
-
This differs for everyone. Some clients notice meaningful shifts during or shortly after their intensive—like feeling calmer, clearer, and more confident. Because we’re working at a deeper level, these changes often feel more embodied, not just intellectual.
That said, integration (the process of your mind and body adjusting to and applying what’s shifted in your daily life) continues after the intensive, which is why we include a follow-up session to support you in that process.
-
Intensives are not the best fit if you’re currently in crisis, feeling emotionally or medically unstable, or not ready to explore deeper experiences. They’re also not appropriate for those actively struggling with self-harm or an untreated eating disorder without additional support in place.
-
Intensives are designed for people who are ready to go deeper and want to create change more efficiently. Instead of stretching the work out over months, intensives allow you to focus fully and work through what’s been keeping you stuck in a more direct, intentional way.
Many of my clients come to intensives after feeling like weekly therapy helped them understand themselves, but didn’t fully shift how they feel. EMDR intensives allow us to bridge that gap, creating changes that feel real, lasting, and meaningful.
-
Yes! Many people continue working with their primary therapist while doing an intensive. In fact, intensives can be a powerful complement to ongoing therapy, especially if you want to focus on deeper trauma work or move through something that feels stuck. I’m also available to coordinate with your therapist, as needed.

This is something we’ll decide together based on your goals, history, and how much you want to work through. Some clients come in with one specific focus, while others want to address multiple patterns or experiences. During your consultation and pre-intensive session, we’ll map this out so you feel confident choosing an option that feels right for you.
